Baby hunters

As a follow-up to the swearathon that was my last post, I decided to go the oposite direction this time and talk about the cute topic that is baby hunters.

On Hunting Party Podcast Episode 120, they got a question from Aspects: “I always hear people mentioning baby hunters or baby dwarves. Where do babies come from?”
Euripides: “Well, you see. When a mummy dwarf and a daddy dwarf love eachother very much, they do something we're not allowed to talk about and at the end there's an egg. The egg; the mummy dwarf sits on for about six months, and when it hatches there's a baby inside."
Darkbrew: "I thought it was when the mummy dwarf and the daddy dwarf go to a tavern and drink all day and all night."
Frostheim agrees strongly with Darkbrew.
But then Alisaunder clarifies: "What really happens is that you have a gryphon, and it comes out of the sky, and it flies over the city, it flies over the town, and it flies over the woods, and then it lands and drops off the baby dwarf."

A LOT of the people that play hunters have more than one hunter up their sleeve. In US the WHU-guild is a factory of baby dwarf hunters, and I think both Alisaunder, Quori and Solarflair have second hunters in WHU. Together with Frostheim of course.

Then there’s the Ironman Challenge, where a lot of people have been leveling the hardest way possible; no talents, no gear better than white or grey, no groups, no help, no deaths. Most of these have been doing this with baby hunters, including Kripparrian that won the challenge a couple of days ago.

Darkbrew has either two or three level 85 hunters. In my guild, both Simelda and myself have two 85 hunters each. In addition I have level 80, 70 and 60 ones, together with several lower levels scattered across the European servers. Sesamee has recently leveled a baby draenei hunter, which I approve deeply of. ;) Dakona has leveled a new blood elf hunter as a younger version of her main, taking her through zones and experiences she never had done before. And Wildlark has at least 10 hunters!!!

Do you have a baby hunter? Why did you make it (apart from the obvious reason that they’re great)? Do you participate in big communities like WHU or the Ironman Challenge?

I also wanna mention something big that happened me last night. My guild was in Firelands, helping two shadow priests with their legendary gathering. After, I very nicely asked if someone could please come with me to Sunwell Plateau, as I really really wanted a legendary on my own (the best looking of them all). So 7 of us traveled over and cleared the place very very quickly. Don't hate me for this, but my 8th kill of Kil'Jaeden paid off!!! And I'm now the proud owner of my very own Thori'dal, the Stars' Fury!

When I made Sesamee I didn't understand how people could roll multiple hunters. Now I totally get the addiction. The pets play a huge part but hunters are just fun. Experiencing "huntering" in a different light on a different race or faction keeps playing the same class fresh and interesting.

I'm definitely not stopping with 2. My next will be either goblin or dwarf. I adore the big brown bears that are the Dwarf starting pets.

First I have to level my baby prot warrior though. My bf and a guildie are all lvl'ing new toons together. I finally got her to roll a hunter and all my bf's main toons are tanks. He rolled a rogue and refused to tank on yet another toon. The nerve!! :P

  2. Hehe, I'm always deceiving myself, thinking of leveling new race and spec, but then ending up with draenei BM. ;-)
